Years ago I had the opportunity to collaborate with attorney David C. Larsen, noted author of “Who Gets It When You Go?” and the companion volume “You Can’t Take It With You!” We put together a seminar on charitable giving which explained a unique way to raise funds for non-profit organizations called the “Charitable Remainder Unitrust.” The program was unique because : 1- It explained how a contributor could actually make it better to give AND receive. Everybody benefits: the charitable organization, the donor, and the donor’s heirs. 2- Seminars often provide good ideas but then people are left on their own to implement these ideas themselves. We encouraged attendees to select a trusted advisor to be a coordinator. David was the featured speaker who described in layman’s terms how the trust worked in a way that people understood. My role was to emphasize the difference between “Development” versus “Fundraising” and to get the professionals in the legal and/or financial services industry involved with their clients as coordinators to tap the benefits for everyone. 911 SEMINARS will be scheduling workshops at The Academy in Aina Haina. We invite all those interested to email 911@911seminars.com for more information. # charity #help
