Written in the simple language of the fable, the journal tells the story of Balthazar, one of the Magi, who travels through distant lands to sit at the feet of the most learned men of his day so that he could absorb their teachings. The Symposia, held in his honor, are standing room only events as guests are eager to hear the discussion about the most important topics of the day. People have come to see the wise man from the East and to catch a glimpse of the young man who accompanies him. The rumors say the young man is a king in disguise who leaves those who hear him speak in wonder.
